テーブルの左に文字いれたいんですけど…

私は、テーブルの左に文字をいれたいんですが、うまくいきません。
今回ホームページを作るのも初心者なので教えてほしいです。
ちなみにテーブルのタグは下のこれです。

テーブルの横に入れたい文字
このタグの前には、<table align="right" >をいれました。
もちろん、左にはなるんですが、文字とテーブルがあいてしまいます。
私の力不足というか、調べる力が足りないだけかもしれませんが、どうしたら、テーブルと文字がくっついてくれるのかわかりません。
どうしたらいいか誰か教えてください。

- 単純に 今あるTABLEの外にレイアウト用にTableを入れ子にしてみてはどうでしょうか?????
以前はTABLEレイアウトで良くやっていました。TABLEを固定するために透明.gif画像をセルに詰め込んで。
